Movement of Million Crane – “Anti Violence International Campaign”
Seventy years ago since the atomic boom was flown down in Hiroshima and Nagasaki by US, there are 80,000 women, children and men have direct impact with the tragedy. Overall there are more than 150,000 people passed away.
The collection of Crane as the Peace Symbol was started from the story of Sadako Sasaki, whom was 2 years old when the power of Hiroshima atomic boom flew out of the window. At the years of ten, he had a lot of purple dots at his legs and hands. Diagnosed as leukemia on February 1955, he passed away on October 1955. At the last year of his life, he folded 1300 origami crane as a pray for recovery. Origami Crane had become Peace International Symbol and a painful remembrance for thousands who passed away caused by the nuclear boom.
Between 6 and 9 August 2015, there will be hundreds of participants gather in New Mexico for anti nuclear weapon campaign. The words taken from Dr. Martin Luther King, “There is no choice between violence and non-violence. This is anti violence or nothing.
The Zen Centre effort to held Anti Violence Campaign marks the 70 Years of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Atomic Boom. The participant of Losalamos Naast, Anti Violence National Conference will visit the heart of nuclear weapon Los Alamos National Laboratory. At here you will find the peace campaign and 70,000 cranes are offered as the peace symbol. The idea is to come to Los Alamos to get the cranes from all over the world.
We encourage as many people to join this crane campaign movement. ‪#‎Ayo‬ Melipat Indonesia # (Let’s Fold Indonesia #) will participate in this event by sending One Million Origami Crane made by Indonesian Children started from April to June 2015 as the support for International Anti Violence Campaign in Santa Fe, New Mexico America at July 25, 2015.
